Teachers from Happy Hours School participated in online session on Happy Classroom- Strategies of fostering happiness in the classroom organized by CBSE. Dr. Rasna Sehrawat, the resource person, engaged the educators in a meaningful discussion about learning through enjoyment. We get happiness by indulging in something we love to do or connect with. Similarly education revolves around student teacher connect which brings a change in the learning environment. She shared the strategies to transform our classrooms into happy and lively learning spaces. The session added a new dimension in the teaching learning process.
Teachers of Happy Hours school attended a webinar -Art Integration in Mathematics organized by KIIT World School today. Ms. Ishita Banerjee convened the online session. Through this session, we realized that Mathematics is beyond numbers, equations, computations. It is the most beautiful and most powerful creation of human spirit. She focused on making students powerful thinkers who make connections, think logically and not end up being a calculator. Teachers were engaged in activities where they made different patterns using geometrical shapes and appreciated the beauty of integration of Art in Mathematics in different tribal artforms.
Today parents and teachers of Happy Hours School had the privilege to share the screen with Dr. S.N. Subba Rao ji, fondly known as Bhaiji. He shared anecdotes from his history related to languages, religions and their origin. His gave a powerful message – the strength of India lies in its diversity. We should not be divided on the basis of languages and religions.
Mr.Ajit Banerjee , the resource person from Times of India shared his experiences on ‘How to be a child’s friend?’ with the teachers of Happy Hours School on May 26, 2017. It was an enriching and an interactive session where he highlighted the importance of a behavior attribute ‘WYGIWYG- What you give is what you get’,Patience,Unconditional Love, Let the child speak and Appreciation. It was a great learning platform for the teachers to learn and share

‘It’s realising that a great dream is not as good as a great memory. The dream can be had by anyone. The memory must be made.’ Keeping the above thought in mind an effective workshop was organised by Happy Hours School on June 30, 2016. It was conducted by Mohd. Faizal (3 times Guinness Book of World Record Holder). Techniques: LIFE (Law of linking, Imagination, Faith, Emotions) and memorising vocabulary by Self Meaning System (SMS) were discussed to improvise the retention power. It culminated with a learning that repeated exposure to information in specifically timed intervals provides the most powerful way to fix memory into the brain.
Workshop on ‘Jolly Phonics – An explorative learning’ was conducted by Ms. Anju Mehta on June 27th, 2015 to accelerate children’s language abilities. It is a fun and interactive method to teach 42 letter sounds through synthetic phonics with actions. This multi-sensory methodology is an innovative technique to remember all sounds and spell words easily.
Teachers’ were divided into groups and were engaged in different activities to practice the skills of blending and segmenting sounds. The whole ambience was musical and lively. Presentations were given by teachers to demonstrate the use of flash cards, sight words, enact stories and recite rhymes. It was an enriching experience for all the staff members
Ms.Shivani Kochhar attended workshop – ‘English for the future’ at Piccadily, Janak Puri. The resource person, Mrs. Vasanthi Vasudev briefed teachers about the correct use of English language, focus more on blended classes and integrated teaching
Ms Poonam Malhotra and Ms Ruchi Gogia attended workshop at Bosco Public school on the topic- ” Gliding over the challenges of Preschoolers” organized by Next Education (22.09.2018). The main points of discussion were Blooms Taxonomy, VARK model of learning, 5 C’s of 21st century and importance of theme based learning.
Ms Pooja Narang and Ms Simran Kaur attended workshop on ‘Creative Development ‘ at Venkateshwara Global School on September 30,2018. The highlights of the workshop- Discussion on enhancing children’s listening ,speaking and reading skills.
Teachers of Happy Hours School attended workshop on ‘ Classroom Dynamics’ organised by KIIT World School. Ms. Neera Chopra, Education Analyst was the resource person who mentored teachers to ‘Be the Change’ and create SMART Teaching Learning Environment in classrooms.
Teachers in groups studied the NCF 2005 using jigsaw technique and discussed about creating an inclusive environment in the classroom for all students, active learning through experiential mode, connecting knowledge across disciplinary boundaries and giving all learners adequate room for voicing their thoughts and questions.
Ms. Mahima and Ms. Poonam attended workshop at Blooms Public School on Saturday, 17th November – MRTB CFA Champions Training. Teachers all over NCR were trained by experts from NGO Care For Air to become an Air Pollution Warrior.
HHS organized a workshop on Fire Safety for the teachers as well as support staff. The workshop was conducted by Mr S.K. Dahiya from Fire Safety Department. He shared very important points keeping the safety of school children in mind in case of an untoward incident. Apart from the do’s and don’ts in case of fire, he apprised the audience about different types of fires and fire extinguishers, their composition and the correct manner in which they must be used. The workshop comprised of a hands on session in the outdoor where teachers and support staff learnt how to douse the fire with the help of fire extinguishers.
“What we learn with pleasure, we never forget” Alfred Mercier Happiness Curriculum was introduced to teachers on 19th September, 2019. The resource person – Ms. Neha Sharma initiated the session by an activity – ‘Where does your happiness lie?’ followed by meditation session. The session highlighted the difference between ‘MINDFULL’ and MINDFUL’. Happiness session for teachers included practice of mindfulness, gratitude, moral and value based stories.
