‘It’s realising that a great dream is not as good as a great memory. The dream can be had by anyone. The memory must be made.’ Keeping the above thought in mind an effective workshop was organised by Happy Hours School on June 30, 2016. It was conducted by Mohd. Faizal (3 times Guinness Book of World Record Holder). Techniques: LIFE (Law of linking, Imagination, Faith, Emotions) and memorising vocabulary by Self Meaning System (SMS) were discussed to improvise the retention power. It culminated with a learning that repeated exposure to information in specifically timed intervals provides the most powerful way to fix memory into the brain.
Educators at Happy Hours School attended webinar organized by British Council on 'Technology for Teachers - Need of the hour. Ms.Deepali Dharmaraj, Assistant Director- Academic (British Council) convened the online session. She shared different resources for teachers to collaborate and create a community of practice to support each other during Covid-19 pandemic. Participants were given a platform to explore padlet app, google document and sheet. Many links were shared for online support of students and teachers.
"We loose ourselves in books and we find ourselves there too" Teachers of Happy Hours attended a webinar arranged by our parent school KIIT on 23rd April, 2020 on the occasion of World Book and Copyright day. Mr.Arani Bannerji the resource person from Eupheus Learning focused on importance of reading , shared tip for being an ardent reader, role of book covers to motivate students for reading.
Today parents and teachers of Happy Hours School had the privilege to share the screen with Dr. S.N. Subba Rao ji, fondly known as Bhaiji. He shared anecdotes from his history related to languages, religions and their origin. His gave a powerful message - the strength of India lies in its diversity. We should not be divided on the basis of languages and religions.
The teachers at HHS had the opportunity to attend the workshop on 'Transformation of Security ' . The session was taken by Col. INDERJEET SINGH and he briefed the audience about increasing data breaches by hackers and security threats in form of malwares. In the current scenario of Covid19 such cyber threats have increased many folds. Using a strong password and changing it frequently could be one of the ways to protect our confidential data.
Teachers at HHS had the opportunity to attend thought provoking session with Dr. S.Faizi, Dr. Sanjana Jon and Dr. Bobby Kalotee on the occasion of World Environment Day. The session touched many important issues, from increasing emission of carbon dioxide to climate change and effects thereof. Each one of us must contribute towards restoring our Mother Earth by planting trees and plants. The session ended with a note to revolutionize 'selfie with your favourite plant'.
It was a wonderful session convened by Ms. Charu Bajaj, Ms. Upasana Kinra and Ms. Rajni Jauhari on 'Parents'Involvement in Challenging Times' on 14th June, 2020. Main points of discussion- Focus on 3Cs' ( Chane, Collaboration and Communication), Create favourable learning environment at home,coping with learning in challenging times, importance of holistic development explained beautifully by infographic, the tripod( Student, Parent and Educator).
Learning is a mindset, be ready to accept change and grasp information.
The the essence of discussion was 'Be in it together', we have to work as a team for the benefit of our child.
